Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, I know we did!

Nick and I spent the morning at his parents. We had a wonderful breakfast with his parents, brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law. Then we headed to The Melting Pot with my family.  We had the "Big Night Out" meal which included cheese fondue, salad, an entree of chicken, pork, shrimp, ravioli, and lobster which we cooked in tempura or mojo fondue. It concluded with chocolate fondue! It was all delicious but way too much food. Needless to say we are stuffed and I am ready to start my diet tomorrow! I know they always say don't wait for tomorrow, start now, but I enjoyed that meal!

I am so sad that this is the last day of spring break, but we are ready to get back on a good schedule! If you know me, that is a big deal! I'll let you all know how it goes! Wish us luck!

Weekend Getaway to Orcas Island

Nick and I went with my parents on a weekend getaway to Orcas Island last weekend. It was mine and Nicks first time on the island. We have groupon, livingsocial, and travelzoo to thank for our fun weekend getaways. I am so glad we went, we had such a nice time and already booked another stay for the summer. We stayed at The Resort at Deer Harbor and it was a really nice and reasonably priced place to stay. Each cabin has a 2 person hot tub on the deck and ours had a water view. We went on a hike to a waterfall on our first day and then spent the next day relaxing.

Here a couple photos!

First Post & Weekend Getaway to Leavenworth

Nick and I, okay I, decided to start a blog so we can share our life with our family and friends. It is kind of ironic that we titled our blog, "At Home with the Holms" when we rarely spend time at home! We are always busy with life or traveling. But I saw something today that really reminded me of us, "Home is wherever I'm with you." Wherever I am I always feel at home with my husband and family!

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to have somewhere to share our travels and the exciting events with everyone, so here it goes!

We just got back from a weekend getaway in Leavenworth. We love Leavenworth, it is a cute Bavarian town and it allows us to satisfy our appetite for German food!

We started our getaway at the Linderhof Inn just across the end of town.

My mom and I spent Saturday shopping while Nick and my dad went snowboarding at Stevens.

On Sunday we went snowmobiling! It was a lot of fun and the view was beautiful!

After snowmobiling we went to town for some wine tasting and dinner.
Nick had this amazing schnitzel cordon blue that I wish we had got a picture of. I was able to get my spaetzle! We will definitely be going back there on our next trip to Leavenworth!

Then we went to the Bavarian Orchard House bed and breakfast. The sweetest little old lady lives and runs this bed and breakfast. It was mine and Nick's first time at a bed and breakfast and we really enjoyed it, it was so nice.

If you lasted this long, thanks for reading and look for our next post soon!
